Laura is in agreement with Senator Josh Penry that we need to strengthen the CSAP testing methods or introduce an alternative test that can be used for measuring results of our public education institutions. At the high school level, the ACT and SAT are already commonly given in the schools. Students show up and take the test because they are invested in the outcome of the score – for college entrance.

Standards for high school graduates should be strengthened, while being consistent across the state. Laura does not believe in ‘lowering the bar’ so the students ‘feel good’. Laura believes that discipline, hard work, a rigid curriculum and high expectations of the students leads to success.

LAURA BELIEVES THAT POOR TEACHERS ARE GROSSLY OVERPAID AND GREAT TEACHERS ARE GROSSLY UNDERPAID.
