ABOUT
Kevin Bradford
Kevin Bradford is a lifelong North Alabama resident who believes in hard work, strong communities, and serving others.
Kevin was born in Birmingham, but raised in Russellville where he grew up attending Russellville City Schools until his graduation in 1977. Life in a small community helped shape his belief that success comes from discipline, dedication, and investing in the people around you.
As a standout student-athlete, Kevin earned a tennis scholarship to John C. Calhoun Community College and later continued his academic and athletic career at the University of North Alabama (UNA). At UNA, he served as Men’s Tennis Captain, earned All–Gulf South Conference honors, and was named Most Valuable Player twice. He graduated in 1983 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Chemistry. In recognition of his accomplishments, he was later inducted into the University of North Alabama Athletics Hall of Fame.
Kevin began his professional career at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant as a Health Physics Technician before moving into Environmental Health with the Jefferson County Health Department. While working full-time, he continued his education and earned a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham, focusing on Health Education and Counseling.
His passion for mentoring young people eventually brought him back to the University of North Alabama, where he coached women’s tennis and both men’s and women’s cross country, helping student-athletes grow both on and off the field.
In 1993, Kevin made a decision to enter the insurance and financial services industry. Over the past three decades, he has built a successful career helping families, farmers, and small businesses protect what matters most. Since 1999, he has operated as an independent agent, serving his community while running his own business. He holds multiple professional licenses and earned the Chartered Financial Consultant designation in 2024, demonstrating his commitment to helping others plan wisely for the future.
Kevin’s dedication to service extends well beyond his career. He has served as President of the Winfield Lions Club and the Winfield Chamber of Commerce, and he currently serves as Vice Chairman of both the Winfield Public Library Board and the Winfield Water & Sewer Board. He also serves as President of the Nelson & Charlene Kemp Foundation, supporting charitable initiatives throughout the region.
Faith and family are central to Kevin’s life. He and his wife, Tanya, have been married for 40 years and are active members of Winfield First Baptist Church. Kevin serves as a deacon and Sunday School teacher and has been involved in numerous ministry and outreach efforts. Together, they have participated in missions and community programs that support families across the area.
Kevin and Tanya are proud parents of three daughters and grandparents to a growing family. Their daughters now serve their own communities as a pharmacist, educator, and business professional – a testament to the values Kevin and Tanya worked hard to instill.
Kevin Bradford’s life has been defined by service as a coach, educator, business owner, church leader, and community volunteer. He believes government should reflect the same principles that guide everyday families: honesty, responsibility, faith, and common sense. Kevin is running for the Alabama House of Representatives to be a strong voice for District 17 and to help protect the future of North Alabama for generations to come.
