Fighting for the People of District 17
Cutting Taxes & Easing the Cost of Living
Alabamians are taxed on nearly everything we touch. From the gas pump to our groceries to the things we already own, it seems like working families never catch a break. That’s not right. If we expect families to keep our communities strong, the government shouldn’t be the one squeezing them the hardest. I will explore every responsible opportunity to ease the burden on taxpayers, including continuing the push to eliminate the state grocery tax once and for all. According to the Alabama Department of Revenue, Alabama is one of the few states that still taxes groceries at the state level, something that hits working families and seniors on fixed incomes the hardest. Montgomery needs to remember that the money it spends doesn’t belong to the government – it belongs to the people of Alabama. My job will be to make sure it’s spent wisely and returned to our communities whenever possible.
Supporting Law Enforcement & Strengthening Public Safety
I unapologetically stand with our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and first responders. When the worst day of someone’s life happens, they’re the ones who show up first. They run toward danger when everyone else is running away. Supporting them shouldn’t be controversial – it should be common sense. As your State Representative, I will work to ensure our first responders have the tools, training, and resources they need to keep our communities safe. I will also support policies that recruit and retain good officers so our departments and agencies are staffed with the best-of-the-best.
Lowering Healthcare Costs & Protecting Rural Hospitals
Healthcare costs are one of the biggest financial pressures facing Alabama families today – and no one should have to choose between paying their bills and getting the care they need. The state government plays a major role in shaping healthcare policy. We should be using that influence to make care more affordable and accessible. My focus will be on expanding coverage options, reducing insurance premiums where possible, and working to lower prescription drug costs. We also have to continue strengthening healthcare access in rural communities. Too many Alabamians live far from the care they need, and we must support policies that keep our hospitals and providers serving our communities. Healthcare should work for patients – not against them. Protecting Local Hospitals Across Alabama, rural hospitals are facing serious challenges. In fact, several have closed in recent years, leaving entire communities without nearby emergency care. When a hospital closes, it doesn’t just affect healthcare – it affects the entire community. Businesses struggle to recruit employees, families feel less secure, and emergency response times increase, which leads to catastrophic outcomes. We must work to ensure rural hospitals and healthcare providers have the support they need to remain open and continue serving our communities. That includes exploring innovative partnerships, improving reimbursement systems, and making sure state policy doesn’t unintentionally hurt local healthcare providers. Access to quality healthcare should never depend on where you live.
Improving Roads, Bridges & Rural Infrastructure
Alabamians are already paying for infrastructure through the state gas tax. My priority is making sure District 17 gets its fair share of those dollars. Infrastructure isn’t pretty, but it’s essential to our everyday life. Better roads and safer bridges improve safety, support economic development, and make everyday life easier for families. I will fight to ensure our communities receive the funding necessary to maintain and improve our transportation network. Infrastructure today also includes broadband access and reliable water and sewer systems. Many communities still struggle with these basic needs, and they are critical for business growth, education, and quality of life. I will work closely with local leaders to ensure our district is positioned to grow and thrive.
Increasing Transparency & Holding Government Accountable
Every politician claims they support transparency. The difference is actually living it. Throughout my career as a business owner and community leader, I’ve believed that honesty and accountability are non-negotiable. That’s exactly how I will operate as your State Representative. My contact information will always be available. I will maintain an active presence online, provide regular updates to constituents, and host meetings across the district to hear concerns directly from the people I represent. Government works better when it stays connected to the people it serves. You deserve a representative who listens, communicates openly, and never forgets who they work for.
Cutting Red Tape & Supporting Small Businesses
Small businesses are the backbone of Alabama’s economy. As a small business owner myself, I understand firsthand how difficult it can be to operate in today’s economy. Rising costs, unnecessary regulations, and government red tape make it harder for businesses to succeed. I will support efforts to cut unnecessary regulations, simplify processes for business owners, and create an environment where entrepreneurs can grow and succeed. When small businesses thrive, jobs are created, families are supported, and communities grow stronger.
Securing Our Borders & Upholding the Rule of Law
America is a nation built on laws, and those laws must be respected. President Donald Trump has taken historic steps to secure our southern border and restore order to our immigration system. His leadership has made it clear that the United States cannot function without enforcing the rule of law. At the state level, Alabama must continue supporting efforts to ensure illegal immigration does not strain our schools, healthcare systems, and public resources. No one is above the law, and protecting our borders ultimately protects our communities.
Protecting the Unborn & Defending the Sanctity of Life
As a God-fearing Christian, I believe every life has value. The overturning of Roe v. Wade was a historic victory for the protection of unborn children, but the debate over life is far from over. We must remain vigilant in defending the most vulnerable among us. I will continue to support policies that protect unborn children and uphold Alabama’s strong commitment to the sanctity of life. A society is judged by how it treats the most defenseless – and that includes the unborn.
Strengthening Education & Expanding Workforce Opportunities
Education plays a critical role in shaping the future of our communities and our state. Government has a significant influence over our schools, and we must ensure that influence benefits students, families, and educators. I strongly believe in protecting parental rights and ensuring our schools remain focused on their core mission: educating our children and preparing them for the future. At the same time, we must recognize that success after high school doesn’t look the same for every student. Some will pursue college, while others will enter the workforce or pursue technical training in high-demand skilled trades. That’s why Alabama must continue strengthening career and technical education programs, expanding apprenticeships, and building stronger partnerships between schools and local industries. These opportunities help ensure students graduate with the skills they need to succeed. As your State Representative, I will work to bring resources back to District 17 schools and support policies that strengthen both education and workforce development. When we invest in our students and our workforce, we invest in the long-term success of our communities.
Defending Second Amendment Rights
The right to bear arms is a fundamental constitutional right. As a lifelong conservative and strong supporter of the Second Amendment, I will always stand firmly against attempts to restrict the rights of law-abiding citizens. Protecting the Second Amendment means protecting the freedom and security of American families, and I will always defend that right.
Standing with Alabama Farmers
Agriculture is one of Alabama’s most important industries, contributing over $70 billion annually to the state’s economy, according to the Alabama Department of Agriculture. Our farmers work long hours, face unpredictable conditions, and play a critical role in feeding our communities and fueling our economy. They deserve policies that support their success, protect their property, and strengthen rural communities. I will always stand with Alabama’s farmers and fight for policies that protect the future of agriculture.
Honoring Our Veterans & Supporting Military Families
Our veterans put their lives on the line to defend our country and protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. Serving those who served us should always be a priority. I will support policies that ensure veterans have access to healthcare, job opportunities, housing assistance, and the resources they need to transition successfully into civilian life. We owe them more than our gratitude – we owe them our commitment.
